China's first self-developed missile destroyer launched

The first self-developed missile destroyer in China was the Type 051 destroyer of the Chinese Navy, with hull number 101 and officially named "Harbin". The ship began construction in 1970 and lasted for 7 years. It was officially delivered to the Navy for service on July 16, 1977. This marks China becoming the fifth country in the world to have the ability to design and build missile destroyers on its own, following the United States, the Soviet Union, the United Kingdom, and France.
